Keep and export a private session log

Remember the useful parts of your time, without a perfect streak to defend.

A journal can make small pieces of time easier to remember. It can also become another place to count, compare, and feel behind. DevPause keeps the record simple: a world, a session length, and a thought if you want to keep one. You can make that record useful without turning it into a daily requirement.

Keep a result or a direction

A reflection does not need to describe the whole session. Try one line about what changed: “The draft has a beginning,” “I found the question I need to ask,” or “I am ready to leave work for the evening.” These sentences can help your future self find a useful thread. If there is no sentence you want to keep, leave the field empty.

Let different kinds of time coexist

Focused work and an unhurried break do different jobs. The journal lets you filter Focus, Breathe, and Unwind moments, while keeping them together in the full collection. You do not need to treat one category as more valuable than another. A day with one small pause is still a day when you made some room.

Read the collection for patterns you can use

After a few sessions, look at the notes rather than only the totals. Which intentions were concrete enough to begin? Which durations felt realistic? Which worlds were easy to ignore during work, and which were nicer to explore during a break? Use what you notice to make the next session more comfortable. You do not have to turn the answers into a formal plan.

Keep personal thoughts private

Intentions and reflections are stored on your device, along with captured moment images. The server keeps session time, mode, and world under your browser’s anonymous identity. Sharing a moment sends a simple description of the session, without including your private writing. Your pass key restores paid worlds on another browser; it does not transfer your device-local notes.

Take your record with you

The Private Backup button downloads the moment metadata and your reflections as a JSON file. Keep that file somewhere you trust if the notes matter to you. Captured images can be downloaded individually from a moment. Clearing device storage removes the local record, so a backup is useful before making that change.
