Make and record generative ambient music
Shape a personal browser-generated score with movement, objects, six mix controls, and local recording.
DevPause composes a personal ambient score in your browser. Open Sound to balance harmony, melody, bass, pulse, warmth, and pace. Move through the scene and play objects to add your own gestures. Record performance saves the generated output without using your microphone.
Try it in the world ↗A score that changes as it plays
A random seed stored on your device establishes your musical starting point. A fresh variation for each visit changes rests, chord movement, and melodic choices. The score schedules synthesised notes through Web Audio; it is not a downloaded loop. Generative music can revisit harmonies, so variation is not a promise that no musical phrase will ever recur.
Give the instruments room
Start with Air and harmony, then bring Soft notes down if you want a more spacious texture. Low notes add weight. Brushed pulse is optional and starts at zero. Warmth changes the color of the sound; Pace changes the timing. Try one change at a time so you can hear its effect.
Play with movement
Pointer position and speed influence filter, tone, and stereo movement. A tap on a book, bell, or string adds a note. Object tuning changes the response you discover. At Home, object arrangement can shape the overall mix: plants add warmth, bells add melody, and wider spacing adds air.
Keep a recording
Use Record performance in Sound, play for a while, and stop when the phrase feels complete. Preview the result before downloading. Free captures stop after three minutes; a World Pass extends audio to ten minutes. File format depends on browser support, usually WebM or MP4. No microphone permission is needed because the source is the generated soundtrack.
Before you step inside
Why does the music sometimes need a tap to start?
The site attempts autoplay, but browsers can block sound until you interact. Tap the sound button to start. Your choice to turn sound off is remembered. The score is composed in the browser rather than played from a repeating audio file.
Can I download the music?
On browsers with MediaRecorder support, open Sound and choose Record performance. Keep the resulting audio file on your device. Free recordings last up to three minutes; World Pass recordings last up to ten. Keep & share also records a short film of the scene.
